New Art-Copy 8.0 Enterprise Increases Document Scanning Speeds by over 200%

CINCINNATI, OH - Jetsoft Development Company announces the release of Art-Copy 8.0 Enterprise Edition. This new release splits the scanning and processing functions into separate independent threads effectively doubling the speed that a scanner can scan a multiple page PDF, RTF, or TIFF document. This splitting of the processes allows the software to use modern CPU thread optimizations to greatly increase scanning speed. This means a user of a high speed scanner or just basic ADF scanner can capture documents quicker and get them to their destination be it file, email, or database quicker. This increase in speed is especially pronounced when scanning to processor intense operations such as Art-Copy’s integrated OCR, searchable PDF, or highly efficient file compression algorithm.

In addition, Art-Copy 8.0 Enterprise Edition adds new high-end features such as auto file naming and image stamping. With auto naming, users can set up an alpha numeric naming scheme for a set of documents. Users may now specify a prefix, suffix, and body static text tag or set the auto numeric increment settings for the file name. Every time a scan is done, it will be automatically name with the next in the sequence. In addition, the user can also use the built in OCR to recognize a part of the document and use that area as the basis for naming on each scan.

Image Stamping is similar but allows the user to specify an image stamp to be burned into the image of each scanned page. The user can specify the location on the page as well as the prefix, suffix, and body and how to increment it between pages. This is great feature for any lawyers accustomed to using Bates labels, doctor’s offices dealing with customer specific files, or other paperwork intensive company.

Corporate users prefer Art-Copy's new simple but powerful interface that works as simple as a copier but allows for users to scan to other destinations such as scanning to file and scanning to email. Users can scan to a variety of different file formats including searchable PDF and TIFF for later inclusion into the corporate document management system. When digitizing black and white documents, Art-Copy's compression features can make the files that users create up to 95% smaller making the output very easy to move around the corporate network. Art-Copy will also automatically deskew and despeckle any scanned page. Art-Copy supports duplex scanning on both duplex and simplex scanners. Art-Copy has options that allow network administrators to limit the directories where non-administrative users can save files.

Art-Copy offers the ability to use the default email client to scan paper originals into their own email program to send documents to any valid email address. Not only is Art-Copy able to scan directly to email, but Art-Copy also has direct scan to fax ability included in the program. This eliminates the need to walk to a fax machine or disconnect from an Internet connection to use a fax modem. Also, Art-Copy can keep the image of the paper original on file so both the user and the receiver have a record of the correspondence and have a central place to review both the hard copy and email communication. This feature happens all with the click of just one button.

Jetsoft's new Art-Copy, as with previous versions, can double as a copier duplicator. A larger percentage of copies are now made by desktop scanners instead of the traditional stand alone copier, Art-Copy has added paper handling features to make desktop copying just like using a high end copier duplicator of years past. Users of Art-Copy are able to put a stack of original pages on a desktop scanner's flatbed or ADF unit, specify the number of copies needed, press just one button on the interface, and each set of copies will print out collated in the same page order as the original. A corporate user with a scanner at his desk can make full use of his/her workgroup's laser printer without ever having to leave his/her desk to make copies. This can be done with color copies or just plain black and white originals.

Art-Copy will also auto crop any original and resize it to standard picture frame sizes or a user specified size.

Art-Copy works on any Windows 98, ME, NT, 2000 & XP systems with a TWAIN or WIA scanner. Art-Copy 7.6 can be purchased directly from www.scanhelp.com or through select computer stores and distributors.

Art-Copy 8.0 Enterprise Edition retails for $129.95 and previous users can upgrade for a reduced price. Jetsoft also offers quantity and site license discounts.
